Public Works is compromised of the following divisions: Streets, Ditches, Public Buildings, and Utilities (water, and sewer). The department is responsible for the following operational functions:
- Oversight of all public property of the Village, including all streets, parkways, sidewalks, and municipal buildings.
- The care, maintenance and operation of the Village water distribution system, the sanitary sewer system and disposal plants, the street lighting system, all streets and sidewalks and the drainage thereof and snow removal.
- The construction, repair or extension of any pavement, building, sewer, lighting systems, water main and all other construction repair or maintenance work conducted by the Village.
- The maintenance, repair and condition of all department motor vehicles, trucks and other equipment of the Village, and of all buildings and places in which the same are housed or kept.
